Corner Posts, Strainers and Gates: Finishing a Chain Link Job
Mesh alone does not make a fence. Corner posts, straining wire and matching gates decide whether a chain link job stays tight after the first rainy season.
Mesh without strainers will sag
Buy the rolls from a factory — then budget for corner and end posts that can take tension. Line posts every three metres (typical for 6ft work) keep the face straight.
Gates should match the mesh
A timber or sheet gate next to G16 90×90 looks unfinished. Specify the same gauge and mesh on pedestrian and vehicle gates where possible.
Topping
Homes and schools often add one or two strands of barbed wire above the chain link. Order topping with the mesh so the site is not waiting on a second delivery. Barbed wire sizes | Quote both together.
